For 75 years, G&R Farms has been growing crops in the soils of Glenville, Georgia. 
Now the farm is celebrating three-quarters of a century with a campaign, kicking off in September, that will highlight the G&R legacy and the commitment to sustainability ( Learn more ).

The G&R Heritage

G&R Farms is most famous for its Vidalia onions, or sweet onions, and the campaign was designed to coincide with the Peruvian sweet onion season. 
Originally founded by Walter R. Dasher in 1945, G&R Farms now accounts for over 5,000 acres. According to his grandson Walt Dasher, current vice president of G&R Farms, Walter R. Dasher was “one of the original pioneers that helped with the development and growth of Vidalia onions.”

Continuing Traditions, Protecting the Environment

Walt Dasher says that the company continues to carry on the traditions established by his grandfather. At the same time, they are “doing our part to protect the environment.” 
G&R Farms grows sweet Vidalia onions in Georgia, but the company is also an importer of Peruvian sweet onions. They started doing this in 2009, and in 2019 they imported over 44 million pounds.
